1. Information We Collect

When you use Presency, we collect information that you provide directly to us (such as name, email, and business details) and information that is automatically collected (such as IP address and usage data).

For marketplace orders and orders explicitly covered by Buyer Protection, we also process order and payment references, delivery events, communications, dispute reasons, supporting evidence, refunds, reversals, and payout decisions.

For vendor payout verification, an identity provider may process an NIN with your consent. Presency stores the provider reference, verification result, document type, last four digits, and a one-way keyed hash—not the raw NIN submitted through the verification form.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services.
• Process transactions and send billing notifications.
• Verify your identity and prevent fraudulent activity.
• Operate Buyer Protection, investigate disputes, and process refunds or payout releases.
• Communicate with you about platform updates.

3. Data Sharing & Security

We do not sell your personal data. We share information with third-party processors (like Paystack), delivery partners, vendors involved in your order, and authorised support providers only as necessary to provide the service, investigate an issue, prevent fraud, or comply with law. We implement industry-standard security measures and restrict dispute information to personnel who need it for their work.

4. Lawful Basis & Retention

We process transaction and Buyer Protection information where it is necessary to perform our contract, comply with legal duties, protect legitimate interests such as fraud prevention and dispute resolution, or where you have given valid consent. We retain transaction, ledger, webhook, and dispute records only for as long as reasonably required for the service, accounting, security, regulatory, legal-claim, and payment-provider obligations.

5. Your Rights
